The Gabonsa Pavilion, a remarkable creation by students from the Kaiserslautern University of Applied Sciences, is a testament to innovative architecture and sustainable design. This temporary structure, designed for Austria's Gabonsa Music Festival, showcases a unique approach to circular construction and material reuse. The pavilion's terraced timber design not only provides a visually appealing landscape but also serves as a versatile space for various festival activities.

The construction utilizes 4-meter timber beams connected by screw joints, avoiding the use of adhesives and permanent connections. This approach ensures that the structure can be fully dismantled after the festival, allowing for the reuse of materials in their original dimensions. The pavilion's design also incorporates standard construction materials in creative ways. A semicircular volume clad in reflective construction foil mirrors the surrounding environment, visually extending the site and creating a recognizable landmark. An aluminum vapor barrier forms a lightweight canopy, providing shade while also serving as a unique feature. The orange construction safety net, suspended beneath the canopy, adds a playful element, transforming a functional material into a place for relaxation.
The structural system is both legible and adaptable. Red-painted bracing elements express the construction, making it easy to understand. Ground screws and red tension straps anchor the pavilion with minimal impact on the site, facilitating complete disassembly.
